MGT-482: Disaster Recovery Public Assistance Programs, An Introduction

Disaster Recovery: The Introduction to Disaster Recovery Public Assistance Programs course provides an overview of the FEMA disaster recovery public assistance program and will provide front line jurisdiction staff and leaders with the information that will assist communities and businesses to prepare for and recover from disasters. The course will provide an overview of the key topics to understand recovery and improve preparedness for the next disaster. The course will facilitate an understanding of how to identify and recognize disaster recovery program resources by discussing and summarizing the FEMA Public Assistance Program and Policy Guide and how to use the FEMA guide as a baseline for recovery planning.

• The Public Assistance Process: Initial Stages and Applicant Collaboration
• Project Formulation and Management
• Project Funding, Monitoring, and Closeout

Participant Audience:
• Infrastructure systems (water, wastewater, environmental, solid waste, electric power, oil and gas, telecom, and transportation)
• Fire, public safety, law enforcement
• City and community planning, economic, housing, and urban development
• Health and social services
• Natural and cultural resource organizations

TEEX Student ID Requirement:
Along with registering with the State, participants must complete enrollment information through the TEEX student portal MGT482.

Recommended Prerequisites:
It is recommended, but not required, participants complete the Disaster Recovery Awareness (AWR408) course.
