L0143 – Advanced Situational Awareness & Common Operating Picture
The Alabama Emergency Management Agency, in conjunction with our partners at FEMA and the Emergency Management Institute, are proud to announce that the L0143: Advanced Situational Awareness and Common Operating Picture Course will be held August 13-16, 2018 in Clanton, Alabama.
INTRODUCTION:
The L0143 – Advanced Situational Awareness (SA) and Common Operating Picture (COP) Course takes lessons learned in the E/L0948 – Situational Awareness and Common Operating Picture Course and applies them to complex incidents and events.

Manage, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate the Situational Awareness and Common Operating Picture

Emergency management professionals who deal directly with SA and COP activities.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This advanced Situational Awareness (SA) and Common Operating Picture (COP) training applies best practices and facilitates the improvement of an integrated SA and COP system. The primary focus of the training is to apply critical steps required for an SA and COP system to effectively improve critical decision-making prior to, during, and after an incident.
This 32-hour program of instruction is conducted over a four-day period by certified FEMA instructors with practical planning experience and is supported through the Federal Emergency Management Agency Planning Division.
COURSE DATES & TIMES:
August 13-16, 2018: 8:30AM to 4:30PM Monday-Thursday.

Students are required to submit a FEMA Form 119-25-1, General Admissions Application and prerequisite certificates to: Alabama Emergency Management Agency, State Training Officer Jason Smith via email at Jason.Smith@ema.alabama.gov, or AEMA Exercise & Training Section at training@ema.alabama.gov.
