G 191 Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System (EOC/ICS) Interface

Course Description:
The goal of this professional development course, G0191 EOC/ICS Interface is to enable students to develop understand an effective interface between the Incident Command/Unified Command and the Emergency Operations Center by applying National Incident Management System principles. The course reviews ICS and EOC characteristics, responsibilities and functions and depends heavily on activities and group discussions to formulate an interface.
Target Audience:
The intended audience(s) are federal, state, tribal, territorial, local level, private industry, volunteer, and nongovernmental emergency management personnel.
Course Objectives:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe Incident Command System principles.
- Using scenarios, analyze the Incident Command System and Emergency Operations Center systems and identify potential interface issues.
- Describe Multi-Agency Coordination/EOC principles.
- Identify the authorities, responsibilities, interests, needs, and assets of ICS and EOC during emergency operations.
- Apply ICS/EOC interface concepts in a classroom activity situation.
- Begin developing an ICS/EOC interface action plan for your community.
