DESCRIPTION:Course Description: \nThis course provides information and resources that will enable participants to plan an effective Damage Assessment Program and conduct rapid and effective damage assessments in order to save lives\, protect property and the environment\, and begin the process of recovery and mitigation. \nTarget Audience: \nThe intended audience(s) are officials and individuals who are responsible for assessing\, collecting\, and reporting damages during and after any event that causes damage of private\, public\, and critical infrastructure. \nCourse Objectives: \nGain the ability to understand and describe the: \n\nNeed and purpose of a Rapid Needs Assessment.\nStarting point for planning for a Rapid Needs Assessment.\nProcess for staffing a Rapid Needs Assessment.\nBasic tools required to support the Rapid Needs Assessment process.\nImportance of planning data collection\, redundant data transmission systems and means\, analyzing and reviewing data.\nDescribe additional data sources available to support analysis.\nDescribe the training requirements for the Rapid Needs Assessment Program.

DESCRIPTION:Alabama Emergency Management Agency \nIn partnership with Jacksonville State University \ninvites you to attend the \nPreparedness for Alabama Resilience Summit  \n  \nWednesday\, July 30\, 2025 \n9:00 am – 2:30 pm \nJacksonville State University \nHouston Cole Library 11th Floor \n700 Pelham Road N \nJacksonville\, AL 36265 \n  \nAs a principal stakeholder in community preparedness in the State of Alabama\, you are invited to attend the Preparedness for Alabama Resilience Summit. The purpose of this summit is to enhance disaster preparedness and stakeholder partnerships in Alabama. Objectives include increased awareness of disaster mitigation\, response\, and recovery management and the growth of the resilience stakeholder network collaboration with emergency management through partnerships between local\, state\, and federal partners\, including both public and private sector partners. The outcome is inclusion and involvement in planning for preparedness\, training and exercising\, and contributing to disaster mitigation\, response\, and recovery. Your input in these discussions will strengthen the resilience stakeholder network that is vital to the safety of Alabama and our local communities. The goal is enhanced development and improvement of relationships for community resilience. \n  \nStakeholder discussion will include: \n  \n\nEvent-based discussions that highlight the incident command/unified command processes in preparedness and response. Reviewing the best practices that have reduced disaster impacts within communities and enhanced recovery efforts that have stabilized these communities as quickly as possible.\n\n  \n\nYour role in the resilience stakeholder network in collaboration with emergency management to improve preparedness\, mitigation\, response\, and recovery efforts by including more awareness\, communication\, capabilities\, and capacities from the network.\n\n  \n\nThe use of incident command/unified command in this collaboration to integrate capacities and capabilities where and when needed to increase community resilience.\n\n  \n***Lunch will be provided\, and parking is free*** \n  \nBusiness Casual Attire \n  \nPlease submit your RSVP to Resilience Summit by July 18\, 2025.
