SUMMARY:MGT-348: Medical Preparedness and Response for Bombing Incidents
DESCRIPTION:Register: https://teex.org/class/MGT348/ \nPOC: Erin Coker\, ecoker@mchd.org\, (251) 690-7512 \nThis course is designed for personnel from any professional background who may become part of a community response to a bombing event. This interactive\, instructor-facilitated program employs case studies and research-based information designed to enhance medical preparedness for and response to blast effects. Breakout sessions address considerations and concerns specific both to medical responders and emergency planners. \nStudents are encouraged to ask questions and to create a to-do list of items they don’t have the answers to\, so they have a list of tasks to address when they return to their jurisdiction. \n

SUMMARY:AWR-147: Rail Car Incident Response
DESCRIPTION:Registration Link: https://ruraltraining.org/course/AWR-147/?scheduled=true&id=8734 \nCourse POC: Greg Fontaine / 205-349-0150 / gfontaine@tuscco.com \nAWR 147 is an 8-hour\, DHS/FEMA-certified\, tuition-free\,\nawareness-level course developed to educate rural emergency\nresponders on freight rail car incidents involving hazardous\nmaterials. Because most freight rail traffic traverses rural areas\, it\nis imperative that rural responders\, especially those in resourcelimited\nareas\, understand the dangers and other unique hazards\nthese incidents present. Safeguards are commonly implemented to\nprevent hazardous materials from causing harm under normal\ntransportation\, storage\, handling\, and use. If any of these\nsafeguards are circumvented\, there is potential for great harm.\nUpon completion of this course\, participants will be better prepared\nto respond to a freight rail car incident without endangering the\nhealth and safety of responders.
