DESCRIPTION:The Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services\, along with the Alabama Volunteer and Donations Coordination Team\, is hosting G288: Local Volunteer and Donations Management trainings. The G288: Local Volunteer and Donations Management is a 1 ½ day course designed to strengthen the abilities of local jurisdictions to successfully prepare for and handle volunteer and donations management issues that arise. \nAs Alabama’s lead for Volunteers and Donations\, the Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services has recognized the importance of this training and has scheduled two trainings this coming April and June. The goal is for every local Volunteer and Donations Coordinator and personnel from each county EMA to attend this course. This training allows participants the time to discuss their county’s Volunteer and Donations Management Annex for your County EOP and will guide you through the process of writing or updating your plan. \nIn addition to G288\, HandsOn River Region will also be providing a Volunteer Registration Center (VRC) training. VRC training will prepare participants to staff VRCs that will register and place spontaneous volunteers in times of disaster. \nYou must register to attend these trainings. DESCRIPTION:18N-0780 RPPP Alabama(Dothan) CrsAnnc\nCourse Information: \nThis course focuses on the review of offsite response organizations’ radiological emergency preparedness (REP) plans and implementation procedures utilizing the 16 planning standards (from 44 CFR Part 350 and 10 CFR § 50.47) and associated evaluation criteria (from NUREG-0654 FEMA-REP-1\, Rev.1) which address protecting the health and safety of the public when responding during the post-plume phase of a radiological emergency at an NRC-licensed commercial nuclear power plant. The scenario-driven classroom exercises will focus on the participants’ organization Post-Plume (Intermediate) Phase plans and implementation procedures for response activates related to Relocation\, Reentry\, Return using EPA Protective Action Guidelines and the Ingestion Exposure Pathway protective actions following FDA guidelines. \n*Required: Each participant should bring a copy of their jurisdiction’s REP plan and implementation procedures (pertaining to RRR & Ingestion Pathway planning) for use during the classroom exercises\, to include the plan’s NUREG 0654 cross-reference.
