This course addresses all responsibilities appropriate to an SITL operating in a local- or state-level All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities include processing information and intelligence and developing displays. The course is an instructor-led training that supports learning through discussion\, lecture\, and active participation in multiple exercises. By requiring participants to bring an SITL Kit to the instruction\, the course provides a realistic\, hands-on approach to mastering the skills of an SITL. \nThe learner must achieve a minimum passing score of 75% on final knowledge assessments or demonstrate mastery on performance assessments or research assignments to earn the IACET CEU. \nSelection Criteria: NIMS ICS Position Specific training shall be completed by personnel who will be required to gain a certificate of training and the credentials to function in an ICS Organization\, such as an IMT\, as a member of the Command\, General Staff or as a Unit Leader. DESCRIPTION:Registration: https://teex.org/class/MGT482/ \nPOC: Kim Bouler\, 251-460-8036\, kbouler@mcema.net \nCourse Description \nThe Strategic Overview of Disaster Management for Water and Wastewater Utilities course provides critical guidance when planning for and responding to disasters that affect drinking water and wastewater systems. Participants will be introduced to the various natural and man-made (accidental or intentional) disasters to which water and wastewater systems may be vulnerable and the potential effects of disasters. Participants will be guided through portions of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Response Protocol Toolbox (RPTB) to identify steps in the response and recovery processes. Case studies on a variety of disaster incidents\, as well as hypothetical situations for water and wastewater incidents are examined. Participants are also given the opportunity to practice developing a disaster response plan for a disaster.

The instructional team consists of coaches and mentors experienced in emergency management and incident response.
