The OSC will be part of an all-hazards T-III IMT Operations Section Chief (OSC) Type III in a Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT).\nThe learner must achieve a minimum passing score of 75% on final knowledge assessments or demonstrate mastery on performance assessments or research assignments to earn the IACET CEU.\nSelection Criteria: NIMS ICS Position Specific training shall be completed by personnel who will be required to gain a certificate of training and the credentials to function in an ICS Organization\, such as an IMT\, as a member of the Command\, General Staff or as a Unit Leader. DESCRIPTION:POC: Steffany Coker Steffany.Coker@ServeAlabama.gov 334-242-1276 \nRegistration: https://www.servealabama.gov/disaster-preparedness-trainings \nCourse Overview:  \nThe purpose  of  this  Community  Emergency  Response  Team  (CERT)  Train-the-Trainer (T-T-T)  Course  is  to get  skilled instructors  for  the CERT  Basic  Training  Course.  \n\n\nA skilled CERT  instructor  gives  the CERT  Basic  Training  Course correctly\, explaining  the  messages  and intent  of  the  CERT  Program  (e.g.\,  safety\, teamwork\,  and  place in overall  community  emergency  operations plan).  \n\n\nA skilled  instructor  makes  sure  that  students  complete  the  objectives  of  the  CERT Basic  Training  Course.  \n\n\nA skilled CERT  instructor  gives  training  effectively  and at  the right  level\,  helping students  to learn and correctly  apply  skillsets.  \n\n\nA skilled  instructor  creates  a comfortable yet  managed learning environment. \n\n\nOverall Course Objectives:  \nBy  the end of  this  course\,  participants  should  be able to:  \n\n\nShow knowledge of  the CERT  Basic  Training  Course.  \n\n\nShow the  ability  to present  an  assigned part  of  the  CERT  Basic Training  Course (teach-back).  \n\n\nExplain the core values  of  the  program.  \n\n\nShow classroom  management  techniques.  \n\n\nShow effective teaching  techniques.  \n\n\nModel  appropriate behavior  as  an  instructor. In addition  to  the  overall  course objectives  listed above\,  each  unit  has  specific objectives.  \n\n\nTarget Audience: The target  audience  for  this  course  includes  the  following:  \n\n\nPeople who will  serve as  the course  manager  for  the CERT  Basic  Training Course.  This  course  manager  would have the  power  to name instructors  to teach selected  units.  \n\n\nPeople who will  be CERT  Basic  Training  Course instructors  in  any way.  \n\n\nNote:  Those who teach only  one  or  two of  the units  may  do so without  taking  the CERT T-T-T  Course.  However\,  the CERT  T-T-T  Course would give them  a  needed overview of  the CERT  Basic  Training  Course as  well  as  improve their  teaching  skills. \n​ \nPrerequisites:  \n\n\nA referral  from  a CERT  sponsoring  agency.  (i.e.\,  local\,  regional\,  or  state government  agency) \n\n\nEarlier  completion of  the CERT  Basic  Training  Course;  and  (if  necessary)  \n\n\nApproval  from  the state CERT  coordinating  agency  if  that  agency  sponsors  the CERT  T-T-T  Course.  \n\n\n* The Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services (GOVS) is the Alabama State CERT coordinating agency.
