DESCRIPTION:MGT906 – L0449 ICS Train the Trainer presented by TEEX\nCourse Description:\nThis course expands and improves student’s ability to deliver Emergency Management Institute’s (EMI) Incident Command System (ICS) curricula. Students are provided training on the delivery of ICS-100: Introduction to the ICS\, ICS-200: ICS for Single Resource and Initial Action Incidents\, ICS 300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents\, ICS-400: Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff – Complex Incidents\, ICS-402 ICS Overview for Executives and Senior Officials\, and G0191\, Emergency Operations Center/ICS Interface. \nThe emphasis is placed on classroom based deliveries\, including compliance with the National Incident Management Training Program\, adult education methodologies\, deployment of course activities\, pre- and post-testing\, and ICS training program management. \nStudents will perform a teach back of an assigned unit from the ICS core curriculum as part of the course. Teach backs are conducted as part of the assessment of instructor competence. \nCourse Objectives:\n\nExplain the background of ICS training development.\nIdentify key requirements and elements within the NIMS Training Program that relate to ICS training courses.\nIdentify appropriate instructional techniques for the delivery of ICS curricula and facilitation of course activities.\nIdentify critical teaching points\, participant challenges\, and desired outputs for each of the ICS training courses.\nExplain how to coordinate and execute course deliveries.\n\nSelection Criteria:\nParticipants must have successfully: \n\nCompleted the prerequisite courses\nCompleted recognized training to achieve qualifications in techniques of instruction and adult education methodologies\nQualify as either a Lead or Unit instructor as noted in the NIMS Training Program\, September 2011\n\nThe student must demonstrate a working knowledge of ICS principles.
